You decide to circle around the tower. The tower is made of stone, at least at the lower levels. Higher up it looks to change to metal, wood, and other materials you can't really identify. It looks like it was built in phases over time, with different architectural styles.
An idea occurs to you. You walk about 30 paces away from the tower, so it appears to be only a few stories tall. You pick up a rock, and throw it as high as you can towards the top of the tower. You immediately start running back to the tower, keeping your eye on the rock while the tower grows to immense heights.
The rock's arc of travel doesn't seem to distort at all. It hits the tower a couple stories up. Right where you'd been aiming, if not for the distortion. That must mean it's only the tower itself that shifts, not the space around the tower.
You notice a pennant about a story up. It has sunset gradient coloring, and it features a symbol like a triangle made up of three partial circles. You realize it's the same symbol from the announcement, but you don't understand how you know that. You'd "heard" the announcement, but somehow the symbol was something you remembered visually. Regardless, that symbol must be associated with whoever is in charge here.
You continue walking around the tower. The grassy hills and forested wilderness around the tower all appear normal. You notice that the only walking path leading to the tower is the one you followed here. There are no trails leading anywhere else.
You also haven't seen any kind of door anywhere on the tower. As you loop back around to the front, you wonder how anyone gets in or out. But as soon as you reach the point you started from, glowing words appear in the stone wall, with the outline of a door around them.
